meowsers
That’s Mochi, one of our dear cats, in case you hadn’t met her before. The look on her face is sort of how I’ve been feeling lately after spending hours in front of the computer everyday, maxing out my mental capacity. Things are in transition at the moment in some ways and in some ways they are the same as they’ve always been. I feel like this blog has been neglected somewhat despite my best efforts.
I thought I’d do something a little fun and different. Is there anything you’ve ever wanted to ask me (or Shawn perhaps)? Well here is your chance…anything you want to know, I’ll be answering. Ok, within reason. I do have some decency you know.
So go for it! Ask away here in the comments, or you can email me at veganbakesale@gmail.com and I’ll respond here on the blog.
In other news, we’ve been gearing up for October little by little, watching lots of movies in our spare time (which for me, usually means while I work in the evenings). We even started a little club to chronicle the films we see. It makes my heart happy.
fried green tomatoes
Finally made some fried green tomatoes before summer has ended. Although, here Los Angeles, it feels like it’s just begun. For all intents and purposes, I followed this recipe, although I was pretty loose on that. I’ve never actually had fried green tomatoes before, but I enjoyed these quite a bit. What’s not to love about breaded & fried vegetables?
Been making a few special meals here and there, but nothing profound. Just tasty combinations of things. As it starts to cool down, I know I’ll bee in the kitchen more and sharing various dishes.
Breakfast Feast
A quick announcement that Kim and I will be hosting another A Moveable Feast on Saturday September 17th. I’m particularly excited that the theme this time around will be French inspired breakfast for dinner. So many of my favorite dishes are breakfast treats.
If you’re interested in reserving a seat (and there are only a few left) email veganfeast@gmail.com
le weekend
This weekend was filled with many tiny adventures. We never really got around to making plans to do something extravagant so we just did a bunch of things. Mostly I was glad to have the extra day to let my mind breath and clarify some things for myself. Worked on a few little projects and spent too much money on odds and ends.
I haven’t been taking many photos lately and was happy to get lost taking these flower shots around town.
camping
Sometimes, when you can’t get out of town, you can still go camping..and bring the cats along.
Hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend.
