black and white chevron project
Ever since we had out Mad Men Party there have been plans for more marathons and themed gatherings. The most anticipated is our Twin Peaks Marathon, which is happening this weekend. Being a huge Twin Peaks fan, I may have been a little too ambitious in my preparations. In order to make our living room feel like the black lodge, I’ve been making a black and white chevron quilt. I love how it’s coming along, but with so many pieces on this fairly large quilt, I’m not sure I can pull it off in time for this weekend. I’m going to try though! Thankfully I have Radiolab podcasts to keep me on task while I sew.
Beyond the quilt, I still have red velvet curtains to make. Plus lots and lots of pie. I am really good at making nearly impossible tasks for myself. I wouldn’t have it any other way I suppose.
This makes me so happy! We are planning a Twin Peaks themed party as well, but my goal is to assign my friends specific characters and do a murder mystery type party. Twin Peaks is the best!
yes i was a little torn with the marathon because watching so many hours leaves me less inclined to dress up which is also super fun. i like the murder mystery idea. fun!
That quilt looks like it’s going to be so cool! Can’t wait to see the finished project!
I love it! My friend and I are working on Twin Peaks quilts using some of these fabrics – http://www.spoonflower.com/spelunks?type=&q=twin+peaks&x=0&y=0
Our plan for the back is similar to your chevron design. I love the way yours is turning out!
Well, this party just sounds like a wonderful dream. My husband and I just did a Twin Peaks marathon a few months ago (I forgot how unsatisfying the ending is!! although I know it’s because the show got cut – but still.)
I really can’t wait to see your pictures!

The quilt looks great so far! I love the chevron pattern–I always bite off more than I can chew in respect to parties and picnics and such. Each time, when I’m struggling to make the last thing right before people arrive, I wonder why it is that I think I can cater a party for 20-25 people by myself having made 95% of everything from scratch. Haha, I’m silly and over-ambitious, I think. You seem to be pulling everything off though–the post about your Mad Men party looked incredible and I’m sure your Twin Peaks marathon will be a great time too. Hope to see a post about it if you guys have a chance to take some pictures.
Such a cool quilt. It looks great at this point and it’s only going to get better! Keep at it.
